Barry Johnson brings more than 30 years of invaluable experience, both in Australia and overseas and across a broad range of legal areas of expertise to our team.
He was admitted to practice in Queensland in 1979 and as a solicitor and barrister in Victoria in 1983.
Barry's early career offered experience as a partner in a small Brisbane firm, and also with one of Australia's large multi-branched legal conglomerates before going overseas to broaden his professional experience, knowledge and expertise in the international environment.
Between 2004 and 2008, he was based in London, and became a director and legal advisor for a London housing cooperative. That experience furthered his specialisation in commercial law and, importantly, demonstrated the desire by corporate and private clients for direct plain dealing legal advice. On his return to Brisbane, Barry joined Crouch & Lyndon. His areas of practice include commercial law, estate planning and the administration of deceased estates.
Barry has lectured in conveyancing, and chaired and spoken at Queensland Law Society seminars on property law and leasing. He became a Notary Public in 2003.
Barry is a member of STEP (Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners), and he has significant experience ranging from drafting simple Wills to complex estate and business succession planning. He regularly acts for executors in the administration of deceased and other estates. He is also a member of the Society of Notaries of Queensland.
Barry is a director of an Australian public company (limited by guarantee).
Barry brings his years of on-the-ground experience across a broad range of legal areas of expertise, and can offer a unique perspective to client relations because of his dedication and commitment to personalised service."
